Via The Telegraph:
An Australian online retailer has hit shoppers who use Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 7 web browser with an extra 6.8 per cent “tax” on every purchase.
Kogan.com, an electronics seller, said it wanted to “help make the internet a better place” by encouraging customers to update their software.
The website detects when visitors are using IE7 and issues a pop-up warning about the tax, which is set at 0.1 per cent for each month since the browser was released more than five years ago.
“It appears you system administrator has been in a coma for over five years and you are still using IE7” the tongue-in-cheek message says.
If only I could impose a tax on everyone that sends me emails from a Hotmail account.
