If you take a look at Amazon’s website, you’ll note that the Kindle Fire HD is selling for $199 while being stacked up against the iPad mini, which starts at $329. In a typical marketing strategy, Amazon has listed the advantages of its tablet device while also so eloquently pointing out the shortcomings of Apple’s.
As much as I hate comparison charts for being misleading and never complete, this is a smart (yet less than truthful) marketing move by Amazon. Very Romney-esque. Without a homepage visited by millions every day, might as well use it to bash your competition.
If Amazon really wants to prove just how much better the Kindle Fire is than the iPad, all it need to do is give us the sales figures for its tablet. Without those hard numbers, this homepage smackdown seems more like whining than gloating.
